Here are the finalists of Encouragement for Action 2025!

It is with great honor that Stockholm Fashion District now presents the nominated finalists for the 2025 edition of the sustainability award, Encouragement for Action. This year, a broad range of companies and initiatives have been nominated, representing different parts of the industry and including both established actors and newcomers.

After careful consideration, four distinguished jury groups have selected one nominee in each of the award’s four categories. This year’s winners will be announced at the award ceremony on 17 December 2025.

Blugiallo

The jury highlights Blugiallo as deserving recognition for its innovative work in combining technological innovation and sustainability in practice. Through its on-demand model and digital fit tool, each garment is produced only once it has been ordered. A concrete step towards eliminating overproduction and encouraging conscious consumption. With production in Östersund and a strong foundation in quality, transparency, and timeless design, Blugiallo demonstrates that made-to-measure fashion is not only about aesthetics, but also about responsibility and respect for both people and the environment. Founders Alexander Moström and Daniel Apler are driving the vision of made-to-measure as the production model of the future, a sustainable identity in the truest sense of the word and an inspiring example of how Swedish innovation can contribute to a more circular fashion industry.

By consistently offering organic, fair trade, and environmentally friendly products across several categories – from fashion to skincare and food – they have created a holistic experience that encourages more responsible choices. At a time when many sustainability-driven stores have been forced to close, Butik Paletti stands strong as an inspiring example of perseverance, commitment, and conviction. Their work demonstrates that it is possible to build a profitable and vibrant business founded on care for both people and the environment.

Nano Textile Solutions

The jury highlights Nano Textile Solutions for a groundbreaking innovation that combines technology, function, and sustainability in a concrete and forward-thinking way. By developing a textile that can change size indefinitely using electricity, the company creates entirely new possibilities for the fashion and sports industries. Their first product, a riding boot with an adjustable shaft, reduces the need for multiple size variations, thereby extending the product’s lifespan and enabling a more efficient and circular product flow. In a time dominated by digital solutions, Nano Textile Solutions demonstrates the power of physical innovation and how advanced technology can help reduce waste and promote more resource-efficient production models. With perseverance, creativity, and a clear vision, they are paving the way for the sustainable product development of the future.

Rewin addresses one of the fashion industry’s greatest sustainability challenges, the abundance of textile waste, and demonstrates concrete solutions for reducing resource use, waste, and emissions. Particularly impressive is their ability to process complex fiber blends, which is crucial for scaling recycling across the industry. Rewin shows that technological innovation can drive both environmental and economic sustainability, inspiring a future where the fashion industry is circular, regenerative, and waste-free.
