Family-owned since 1939, LEMAR is a semi-vertical weaving company with offices and a manufacturing unit in Pevidém, Guimarães, the heart of the Portuguese textile industry.

Our core business has been the production of men´s swimwear fabrics.

However, over the past few years, modern lifestyles have changed the way we dress and, for this reason, we have expanded our offer to new fashion segments with innovative qualities and differentiated finishes.

All these fabrics are aimed for activewear, sportswear, beach and casualwear, bags and luggage among others.
Up-to-date weaving looms guarantee a high level of flexibility in production and compliance with the highest quality standards for small and large-scale production series.

LEMAR 's roots go back to 1939, when Leandro Magalhães de Araújo, the grandfather of the current CEO, started his company. The primary objective was to manufacture fabrics for the former Portuguese colonies in Africa.

Three decades later, in 1969, Américo Salgado de Araújo, son of the founder, decided to write a new industrial chapter for the company when he acquired the first water-jet looms in Portugal. This refurbishment was designed to support new market strategies and to focus on the production of fabrics for outerwear.'

Currently, it is Manuela Araújo, granddaughter of the founder, and her sons, Armindo and Alfredo Araújo, who lead this company and ensure the ongoing legacy of ethics, excellence and leadership.
