Lars Wallin Celebrates 35 Years with Anniversary Exhibition at Artipelag
On March 7, Artipelag opens the exhibition Lars Wallin Atelier – 35 Years of Fashion Stories, a tribute to one of Sweden’s most renowned fashion designers. For over three decades, Wallin has created couture garments characterized by elegance, glamour, and meticulous craftsmanship. His creations have been worn by royalty, celebrities, and artists worldwide at events ranging from the Nobel Banquet to the Eurovision Song Contest.
The exhibition offers a unique insight into Wallin’s creative process and daily work in the atelier. Visitors will discover his sources of inspiration, collaborations with skilled tailors, and stories from the fashion world. The display features over 140 couture gowns, bridal dresses, and stage costumes—many of which have never been shown to the public before. The exhibition highlights the importance of craftsmanship in an era of fast fashion and mass production.
Lars Wallin shares his thoughts on the exhibition:
“A passion for beautiful fabrics, timeless design, and details that take time to create. Celebrating my 35 years as a designer with this anniversary exhibition at Artipelag feels amazing. This is my most personal exhibition, allowing visitors to join me on my creative journey in the atelier. Today, it feels especially important to contribute to making the world a little more beautiful,” says Lars Wallin to Artipelag.
The exhibition will be on view at Artipelag from March 7 to September 7, 2025. This is a unique opportunity to experience 35 years of fashion history through Lars Wallin’s own creations and stories. Learn more about the exhibition here.
