Store of the month February 2022: Butik Norrviken

Butik Norrviken is located adjacent to beautiful Norrvikens trädgårdar in Båstad and has a very special atmosphere, where nature can take a large place in the shop interior. We took the opportunity to ask some questions to store manager Camilla Kvist about, among other things, how they think about their range and her best tips for inspiring the customer.

Tell us how it all started for Butik Norrviken, how long have you been around?
Butik Norrviken started on a small scale inside the garden in 2019 and is housed in a beautiful small black house with a thatched roof. Norrviken is developing at a rapid pace and in July 2021, the new store was opened, which is adjacent to the entrance to Norrvikens trädgårdar. The new location of the store also opens up for customers to shop with us even when the park is closed for rest during the first months of the year.

The shop is a greenhouse of 250 m2 which also has a beautiful yard with plants, garden tools, and beautiful antique objects such as benches, pots, etc. The range is a mix of antiques, plants, and modern design. We have a very broad target group and wish that everyone will find something beautiful to take home when they have visited Norrvikens trädgårdar. We also make our own products that are unique and that can only be bought at Butik Norrviken.

What type of products do you sell and what market do you target?
The choice of assortment in the store is made by me and I have worked at Norrviken since the autumn of 2020. We are happy to sell products with a focus on sustainability. The antiques are just right when it comes to sustainable thinking. To take care of and nurture beautiful antique furniture.. We have that collaboration with Laserows Antik and they provide us with unique objects. We also collaborate with local artists and sell local ingredients. Our own honey is very popular!

Other brands we are very proud of are Libeco, Sthål, Serax, Chhatwal & Jonsson, Frama, Nordic Knots, Torplyktan, OiSoiOi, and more.

What would you say your customers appreciate most when they visit you?
Our customers and visitors appreciate the whole. To be able to enjoy the garden, eat well, look at exhibitions and then come to us in the shop and buy something beautiful to take home. We want to inspire to pick the green into the homes. Much of what we show in the store are plants from the garden.

The issue of sustainability is high on the agenda in these times, how is it in your industry and how do you work at Butik Norrviken with sustainability?
In addition to thinking about the durability of the brands we choose and the antiques that are highly sustainable, we choose bags that are made to be used many times and are made from recycled material.

What is the biggest challenge of selling interior design and design?
The biggest challenge in selling interior design and design is currently the problem of getting goods home on time and at a reasonable shipping cost. Corona has done that and we have made 90% of all purchases digitally. Buying from a picture is not the same as seeing a product in real life. After all, it has gone very well!

What is your best tip for inspiring the customer?
We try to inspire our customers by showing that it is easy to pick up beautiful things from nature in the home. We try to redo the store often and want to surprise our customers. Our decorators and florists who work in the garden come to us every week and connect the green with our interior. It creates a truly unique feeling that we are very proud of.

We are a good bunch who love our workplace. I think I dare say that Norrvikens trädgårdar are one of Sweden’s most beautiful places to visit!

The store is open from 2/2 Wednesday-Sunday between 10-17.
In May-August we are open every day, at 10-17.
September-December we are open Wednesday-Sunday, at 10-17.
The garden will open until Easter 2022.
