A strong start for Stockholm Fashion District when Fashion Week Trade opens on Monday February 7’th

Stockholm Fashion District was established in 2016 by and for the Swedish fashion industry. The district is a creative place for trade and meetings, with collection presentations in over 140 showrooms and at several fairs and events. We have a strong focus on skills development and initiatives within sustainability and tech.

From this season we also welcome interior and design at Stockholm Stockholm District, as a development within the industry. During Fashion Week Trade, new fashion and interior design collections from as many as 500 Swedish and international companies and brands are displayed. New players with permanent showrooms from this season include Wolford, Banana Moon, Guess Lingerie, Ugg och Karl Lagerfeld. In interior design, we are proud to present several Swedish collections such as Sthål Ceramics, Ceannis, Lindform, Stackelberg, and Shepherd.

Our strong position in the Nordic region is thanks to a well-established collaboration between retail, buyers, suppliers, and partners. Together, all actors have had a clear focus on being able to conduct important meetings and safeguard cooperations, despite all the challenges during the pandemic.

In recent years, the Stockholm Fashion District has moved rapidly forward and the digital business network is now unique in the Nordic region. We have new partners within Stockholm Creative Tech Week and other actors. The district also conducts several digital network meetings during the year as well as newsletters to more than 10.000 contacts in the industry.

We are so proud of everyone who together is involved in creating the strong development and interest in the business network, both within Sweden and internationally. But we are most happy that society is opening up, what an energy injection for us and the entire industry!”, says Helena Waker, CEO Stockholm Fashion District/Trade Partners Sweden.

Helena Waker continues by emphasizing the importance of a physical meeting place.

In our creative industry, it is of utmost importance for the customer to be able to feel, try and see colors in order to be able to make the absolute best purchases from the collections. We have always trusted everyone in the industry and have been able to carry out important events with joint efforts. Last week, our Swedish designers were on site in the district to look at textile collections and production for SS23 during Preview Fabrics & Accessories. Now we are very much looking forward to next week and Fashion Week Trade.”, says Helena Waker, CEO Stockholm Fashion District/Trade Partners Sweden.
