Press release 18.01.2023: Stockholm Fashion District starts off 2023 with a strong season

Besides our daily open showrooms and activities, this spring offers a lot of interesting events in Stockholm Fashion District. Helena Waker, CEO at Stockholm Fashion District, summarizes this season’s start.

We have reached this point thanks to close cooperation with so many talented actors in the industry, where we with joint efforts have created a powerful trading platform in Sweden. We showcase a large range of exhibitors and collections, where both Swedish and international designers exhibit their brands. Thanks to our work with the textile industry we are also deeply involved in matters regarding the production processes, as well as the new solutions that are essential for the future progress of the sustainability work. Work that is needed in order to move the fashion industry forward. We collaborate with well-established listed companies to start-ups with new business models, which we think is one of the big contributors to the large interest in Stockholm Fashion District. Being part of this journey is a real privilege and we are so looking forward to the upcoming season.“, says Helena Waker.

A fully booked Fashion Week Trade
Stockholm Fashion District consists of around 145 showrooms divided on Stockholm Showroom and Stockholm Shoe House, as well as a big industrial fair hall. For this season’s Fashion Week Trade in February, all spots are fully booked by both our permanent brands, as well as by our guest exhibitors. We are looking forward to, once again, create a space for productive meetings and offering an arena for efficient trade. The week’s program is full of inspiring and enjoyable activities, such as trend seminars with the shoe expert Sara Winter and a lecture with Carolina Henning, personal shopping expert. See the program in its entirety here.

International guest speakers
Thursday, January 26, in conjunction with Nordic Fabric Fair, you will have the great opportunity to listen to a talk between Lisa Lang, Director Policy & EU Affairs Orchestrator, and Muchaneta ten Napel, CEO & Founder of Shape Innovate, where they will discuss the upcoming EU regulations and what they will mean for your business. The talk will be moderated by no other than Konrad Olsson, Editor-in-chief & Founder of Scandinavian Mind. Welcome to listen to the talk “The New Rise of the Creative Class – how fashion can save us”. Besides the talk, you will, as always, be able to meet our knowledgeable exhibitors that showcase everything from international textiles and collections of dead stock. On-site you will also be presented with new innovations, such as OnceMore.

Pre-registration for the talk is required and you can secure your spot here. To listen to the talk is free of charge and lunch is included.

Stockholm Fashion District is expanding
Great things are happening in the district as we are expanding Stockholm Shoe House, adding extra square meters to the building and welcome ANWR to our community – something that will be celebrated during Fashion Week Trade. At the same time, Stockholm Showroom is getting a big remake of its entrance with new design and interior, and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone to see the result during Fashion Week Trade.
